Short Program—Transaction Update. Mark Lukens of HREC will provide an update on recent hotel transactions in the region, as well as new hotel developments that are currently in the pipeline. HREC is the nation’s premier real estate advisory and brokerage organization specializing exclusively in the lodging and gaming industries. Mark is in charge of HREC’s Seattle office. He has 25 years of experience in hospitality real estate and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.
Centerpiece Program: “Hotel Brands for Millenials”. We are pleased to have on our panel six brand executives representing the most significant brands for “Millenials,” including AC, aloft, Curio, Even, Hard Rock, Moxy and Radisson Red. Learn what these brands offer and how they are positioned. Find out about the brands’ strategic objectives and the development opportunities they present. Participate in the Q and A.
Panelists:
Tiffany Cooper, Senior Director of Development, West, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (Phoenix, Arizona). Tiffany is responsible for growing Starwood’s western portfolio for aloft (Starwood’s primary “Millenial” brand), as well as the element, Four Points by Sheraton, Le Meridien, Westin, The Luxury Collection, and Sheraton. She is a 20-year hotel veteran, having held positions at Kimpton and Carlson before joining Starwood in 1999.
Adam Glickman, Head of Even Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group (Denver, CO). Adam leads IHG’s cross-organizational team in building EVEN Hotels, including development of product, service and marketing platforms, and guest and stakeholder value propositions for the brand. Adam joined IHG in 2004. Previous positions in the industry include Business Development and Group Services Manager at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
Todd Hricko, Head of Hotel Development, U.S. & Canada, Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos, (Denver, CO). Todd is responsible for development of the Hard Rock Hotels portfolio in the U.S. and Canada. He has over 15 years of hotel industry experience, and his background includes positions at CNL Hotels & Resorts and Wyndham Hotel Group.
Gordon McKinnon, EVP and Chief Branding Officer, Carlson Rezidor (Gilbert, AZ). As chief branding officer, Gordon is part of Carlson Rezidor’s global strategic team for all of the company’s brands. He is also brand lead in bringing to market Radisson Red and Quorvus Collection. Gordon joined Rezidor in 2002 and came to Carlson in 2009. Previous industry experience includes Malmaison Hotels’ marketing vice president.
Gary Steffen, VP Lifestyle Brand Management, Hilton Worldwide (McLean, VA). Gary has served as Hilton’s VP of Lifestyle Brand Management since 2014. Previously, he was Hilton’s VP Brand Performance Support, during which he assisted with the launch of the Curio brand. Gary also assisted with the launch of the DoubleTree brand outside of the Americas and the repositioning of the brand worldwide.
Toni Stoeckl, VP of Lifestyle Brands, Marriott International (New York, NY). Toni defines and executes global brand strategy and signature programming for Marriott’s Lifestyle brands, including AC and Moxy. Toni has over 20 years of hotel industry experience and has held leadership positions at Marriott since 2009.

Irvin Sandman, Attorney – Counselor, Sandman Savrann PLLC (Seattle, WA). Sandman Savrann is a national law firm devoted exclusively to providing comprehensive, first-choice legal counsel to the hospitality industry. Irv has counseled hotel clients, as lead counsel, in thousands of hotel matters and transactions regionally, nationally and internationally, including hotel developments, acquisitions and dispositions, financial and entity structuring, management agreements, franchising and operational matters, and dispute resolution. He is the 2008 recipient of the Anthony Marshall Award for lasting contributions to hospitality law, the past president of the Hospitality Industry Bar Association, and editor-in-chief of the Washington State Hospitality Law Manual, Third Edition (2012).
