THE LODGING ROUNDTABLETM
1. Mission
Reestablished in 2010 by Irvin Sandman of Sandman Savrann, The Lodging Roundtable’s Mission is to enhance the success of the lodging industry in the pacific northwest and nationally by providing:
- a forum for issues impacting the lodging industry,
- a resource for other lodging-related organizations,
- education and information, and
- networking opportunities and activities.
2. Size
The size of The Lodging Roundtable is limited to fifteen.
3. Membership
The selection of Members is by consensus of The Lodging Roundtable or, if necessary, by decision of the Chair. Favorable consideration is given for:
- Prominence and excellence of reputation;
- Extensive lodging industry experience and knowledge;
- Position, profession, or stake in the industry that complements the makeup and strength of The Lodging Roundtable.
4. Chair
Irvin Sandman serves as the Chair of The Lodging Roundtable.
5. Regular Meetings
a. Location. In person meetings are held in the Seattle metropolitan area. If the membership includes a significant number of Members who office outside the Seattle area, the Chair will consider holding virtual meetings rather than in person meetings.
b. Format. In person meetings are in a luncheon format. Normally, there is informal conversation followed by a substantive segment. The substantive segment includes one or more of the following:
- Handling of old and new business;
- A presentation by an invited speaker;
- An organized discussion of a particular issue, followed by The Lodging Roundtable’s consideration/adoption of appropriate resolutions or positions.
6. Meeting Chair
Members take turns serving as Meeting Chair. The Meeting Chair: arranges for the program topics/speaker; gives the Members advance notice of the location and agenda; and leads us through the meeting’s discussion. For in person meetings, the Meeting Chair also: selects the meeting’s location; and provides for the lunch. Members help provide ideas to the Meeting Chair for topics or speakers of interest to The Lodging Roundtable.
7. Special Meetings/Functions
The Lodging Roundtable may schedule special meetings or functions.
8. Structure; Modifications
The Lodging Roundtable will have such structure as is needed for vibrant, effective, and cooperative action in furtherance of its mission. Changes to the structure or organization of The Lodging Roundtable, and modifications to the contents of the foregoing, are by consensus of The Lodging Roundtable or, if necessary, by decision of the Chair.
9. Invitations to Membership
