Short Program—Transactions and Analysis of Investment Parameters. Mark Lukens of LW Hospitality Advisors (LWHA) will provide an update on recent hotel sales and an analysis of investment parameters in the current marketplace. This information and analysis will provide context for our centerpiece program, below. LWHA provides advisory, valuation, feasibility, investment counseling, asset management, and transactional services focused exclusively on hotels, resorts, gaming properties, and conference center assets worldwide. Mark has over 25 years of experience in hospitality real estate and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.
Centerpiece Program: “Buy, Sell, Hold, or Develop?” This topic is always top-of-mind, but it is of particular interest in the current environment, with the disconnect between Wall Street valuations and industry forecasts, the advent and growth of some new industry disruptors, and a perceived peak in hotel real estate values. Carter Wilson of STR (one of our panelists) will provide information and statistics that bear on the topic, including the impact of industry disruptors. We will then turn to a discussion with three, recognized and highly-regarded CEOs in the industry.
